I’m doing a little double-tasking today. Not only is this a perfect example for how I pull ideas together for projects, it’s ACTUALLY helping me through the process of an app I’m in the middle of designing — for folks who love traveling and fine dining. When I start a mood board, I generally have my research for the project already behind me. Knowing who my audience is, what I’m trying to accomplish with the project, and a general feeling for the medium will always inform the styles in which you design. For this particular project, I’m aiming towards an educated, 20-35 year old who is a professional who travels around the world in a business context. For typefaces, I went with a historically influenced serif typeface with many different weights, along with a friendly sans serif for a touch of modernity to use for titles.
